General Rules
- By registering on the platform, you confirm that you have read and accepted all of these rules in full.
- All members are required to behave respectfully toward fellow pilots and the management team.
- Southwind Virtual is not a real airline; it is a non-profit community for flight simulation purposes only.
- The platform is entirely free and carries no commercial purpose.
Flight Rules
- All flights must be flown with the OpsLink tracker; manual PIREPs are not accepted.
- Callsign format: STW + your pilot number (e.g. STW0001).
- Realistic flight planning, appropriate SID/STAR procedures and proper fuel management are expected.
- Only aircraft types available in the Southwind Virtual fleet may be used.
- A SimBrief flight plan is required before departure.
Minimum Requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old to become a member.
- A flight simulator is required (Microsoft Flight Simulator or X-Plane).
Activity Policy
- Regular flying is expected to maintain active membership; pilots inactive for an extended period may be set to inactive status.
- If an extended leave is planned, please notify the management team in advance.
Discipline & Account Management
- Submitting fake PIREPs, manipulating the system or cheating is strictly prohibited; the account will be permanently closed.
- Harassment, threats or insults toward other members lead to immediate account suspension.
- The management team reserves the right to close accounts that violate rules without prior notice.
Software & Licensing Policy
This virtual airline enforces a zero-tolerance policy on software piracy. All members, pilots and staff are responsible for ensuring that the flight simulator, add-ons, aircraft and any software used for the VA are properly licensed and legally obtained.
The use of pirated software (used contrary to its licence) is strictly forbidden. Any member found using pirated software will be removed from the community; if the member is on the VATSIM network, the matter will be reported to VATSIM. No pirated or copyright-protected files, charts or documents may be posted on or linked from this site.
Should the VA receive notice of copyright, trademark or patent infringement from a third party, management will notify the relevant network officials in writing within 30 days.
